How does corporate wellness blood draw testing work?

Corporate wellness blood draw events are organized screenings where a mobile phlebotomy team visits your workplace to collect blood specimens from employees as part of a wellness program.

How it works:

1. Planning: The HR or benefits team coordinates with a mobile phlebotomy service. They agree on date, location (conference room, break room, or dedicated space), number of employees, and test panel.

2. Communication: Employees are notified with fasting instructions (if required), appointment windows, and what to bring.

3. Event day: The phlebotomy team arrives with all supplies, sets up a private collection station, and draws one employee at a time. Each draw takes 10–15 minutes.

4. Processing: Specimens are sent to the lab and results are delivered — either to a health coach, the employee's portal, or their physician.

Common test panels for corporate wellness:

  • Comprehensive wellness panel (CBC, CMP, lipid panel, glucose, HbA1c, thyroid)
  • Cardiovascular risk panel
  • Diabetes screening
  • Heavy metal or toxin screening (for industrial environments)
  • Benefits for employers:

  • Improves participation vs. asking employees to go to a lab themselves
  • Reduces absenteeism by catching chronic conditions early
  • Fulfills EEOC-compliant wellness program requirements
  • Often reduces insurance premium costs through Wellness Program incentives
