The phlebotomist needs unobstructed access to your antecubital fossa (inner elbow crease) or, less commonly, the back of your hand. Tight clothing that constricts the upper arm can impair venous filling. Rolled-up sleeves that won't stay up can also be frustrating during the procedure.
