🔬Test Results & Lab Work

Which laboratory will process my specimens?

The laboratory used depends on your mobile phlebotomist's partnerships and your doctor's/insurance's requirements.

Common laboratory partners:

  • Quest Diagnostics — the largest commercial lab in the U.S., widely accepted by most insurance plans
  • LabCorp — the second largest, also widely accepted
  • Labcorp Specialty Testing — for complex, esoteric, or genetic tests
  • Independent regional labs — many hospital-affiliated or independent labs partner with mobile phlebotomists
  • Direct-to-consumer labs — some mobile phlebotomists work with platforms like Ulta Lab Tests, Everly Health, or Function Health
  • Why it matters:

  • Your insurance may only cover tests at an in-network lab — confirm before booking
  • Certain tests are only available at specialty labs
  • Your doctor may have a preferred lab that integrates with their electronic health record
  • What to ask:

  • "Which laboratory will process my specimens?"
  • "Is that lab in-network with [your insurance]?"
  • "Can I request a specific lab?"
  • Always confirm this detail when scheduling, not after the draw.
