🔬Lab & Specimen Handling

Can saliva samples be collected?

Yes. Some providers support saliva collection kits for DNA, hormone, or infectious disease testing.

Saliva-based testing is increasingly common for cortisol panels (Genova, ZRT), DNA ancestry and health tests (23andMe, AncestryDNA), and certain infectious disease panels. The provider delivers the kit, instructs the patient on proper collection technique, and either waits or returns to transport the completed sample.
